Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2. Must have no criminal record or criminal charges pending
  3. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with liability insurance
  4. Must be able to speak, read and write English
  5. Must have or be willing to obtain First Aide/CPR certification
  6. Must have a clear TB and physical examination before first day of employment
  7. Must be skilled in data entry
  8. Must have superior computer skills Microsoft Windows environment and Office Suite
  9. Must be able to adapt to a busy environment that deals with many situations at the same time


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Have a technical certificate or equivalent in office management
  2. Have good communication and telephone etiquette skills
  3. Be Bilingual able or willing to learn to speak, read and write English and Spanish
  4. Be a local resident of Cameron or Willacy County
  5. Be a person sensitive to the needs of the poor and disadvantaged

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Must have a clear understanding of the Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual
  2. Must be able to maintain all personnel information confidential
  3. Compiles and maintains personnel records: Records employee information, such as personal data; compensation, benefits, and tax data; attendance; performance reviews or evaluations; and termination date and reason
  4. Processes employment applications and assists in other employment activities
  5. Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses
  6. Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons
  7. Compiles data from personnel records and prepares reports
  8. Maintain I-9 forms on all employees
  9. Maintain Criminal background check on all employees
  10. Prepare employees reports and MVR reports
  11. Makes copies of forms, documents
  12. Type verification of employment forms
  13. Assist with incoming calls, mail
  14. Update all filing in the 201 files
  15. Other tasks assigned by supervisor to comply with personnel
  16. Supports the efforts of Head Start families in the enhancement of their children's healthy wellbeing and academic success
  17. Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor relative to program operations
  18. Works on weekends, holidays, and/or evenings on especial assigned projects and/or tasks on request of the Executive/Head Start Director
