MGR RISK-EXAM MGMT RLD

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Responsible for end-to-end examination management and coordinating multiple, simultaneous internal and external examinations impacting SBC CLO. This includes: managing a team in documentation gathering and preparing responses to a large volume of information requests ongoing, reviewing documentation to ensure appropriateness and consistency prior to submitting, as well as drafting management responses and leading internal control development or enhancement projects in order to remediate identified issues. This role also supports SBC CLO departments in monitoring for and remediating operational risk as necessary.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Act as central point of contact for all SBC CLO related state, federal and agency examinations, and directly interface with executive and senior management, internal and external auditors and regulators.
  • Direct and manage a team in order to effectuate a successful response strategy, as well as to manage the compilation of necessary documents, writing of required narratives and establishment of documented policies and procedures.
  • Work with Risk & Compliance Manager to enhance the exam management program, in order to effectively manage and track ongoing audits/exams and subsequent responses to ensure appropriate coverage and timeliness.
  • Responsible for coordinating and handling pre- and post-examination activities including, but not limited to, opening meeting materials, responding to exam questionnaires, responding to loan file requests, investigating potential findings, and drafting regulatory responses.
  • Identify, interpret, and apply state and federal laws and agency or investor guidance to origination and servicing business.
  • Perform qualitative review of information provided in response to examinations to ensure responses are consistent, and accurate.
  • Continuously evaluate risks, identify mitigating controls, develop conclusions, and enhance or develop internal controls to mitigate key risks.
  • Monitor all open issues until satisfactorily resolved. Escalate status as warranted. Conduct formal follow-up to determine the adequacy and effectiveness of actions taken. Prepare reports of results for senior management.
  • Perform ad hoc operational risk related projects, as directed.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in audit, regulatory examination, compliance testing, or similar capacity;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within the banking and financial sector, with a focus on Federal and State laws, regulations, and supervisory guidance, risk management, or a combination of these disciplines within support functions such as Risk Management / Compliance Governance Programs, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, etc.;
  • Minimum 3 year's experience working with commercial banking products required

Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong presentation and written communications skills; ability to interact with and influence senior executive management across the organization in order to achieve best practices and optimal business outcomes;
  • Corporate Compliance, Risk Management, Regulatory or Compliance Audit experience with a regulated financial institution, with exposure to commercial banking products is preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cooperative, collaborative, and productive business partnerships;
  • Self-directed individual with a strong ability to work independently;
  • Excellent problem solving, time management and organizational skills required;
  • Ability to lead and direct employees with competing deliverables in a complex and high-paced environment.

Compensation

Starting base salary: $100,011 - $125,980 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
