The Advanced Analytics Specialist will need to combine business knowledge with big data to solve strategic problems that shape the future of City National Bank and continue to enhance innovation in banking. This role will work directly with cross-functional teams to solve complex high-impact business problems using data and analytics. Responsible for developing data driven recommendations for executives and client partners to deliver top line and/or bottom line growth. This role will be a champion of data in the organization and find new ways to create value from our data and increase productivity and growth.This role will be tasked with investigating and deriving rich and robust customer behavioral predictive models and features from across our databases to improve the quality and performance of existing campaigns. He or she will develop advanced models and tools, conduct statistical analyses, evaluate large data sets, and create tailored predictive models and recommendation engines in order to identify top markets or customers, estimate and forecast the performance of marketing expenditures, and increase customer engagement. You will be competent in the 'full analytics project lifecycle' from a) requirements and scoping through b) data ingestion and management through c) data exploration/munging, and d) the implementation of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods to d) insight generation and communication to stakeholders.

  • Utilizing your algorithmic/programming toolkit, build predictive models to drive acquisition, engagement and retention, and improve growth and profitability, and other such key performance indicators for our business.
  • Evaluate clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, and educate the team on the real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Design, develop and maintain predictive and segmentation models, including data acquisition, testing, validation, deployment and refinement of these models
  • Provide on-going analytical support utilizing marketing mix modeling, forecasting and custom analytic projects to address a wide variety of business issues including marketing, media, pricing and ROI optimization.
  • Explore third party data points available both offline and online spaces to determine when to use which source for what purpose; a strong methodology to ensure effective test and learn strategies centered around successful and profitable use of third party data sets.
  • Create, maintain, and deliver dashboards and reports for KPI results from campaigns and communicate results to key stakeholders.
  • Identify, manage, analyze, and interpret data to support the creation of meaningful and actionable insights that tie directly to our internal or external partners' business objectives
  • Determine, analyze and maintain marketing metrics to identify cause-effect relationships between marketing actions and behavioral and attitudinal outcomes.
  • Identify targeted audiences to optimize marketing communications for digital media, on-site personalization, retargeting, and one-to-one marketing campaigns leveraging transactional data, online-browse behaviors, and third party data.
  • Provide insights to marketing and channel leads on cost to acquire, value of digital engagement, and cross-channel impact of digital marketing.
  • Develop a portfolio of test and learn programs, lead the test design and measurements/goals and manage the day-to-day execution of the corresponding analyses.
  • Regularly present recommendations & opportunities to senior executives and client partners.
  • Iterate and measure success of initiatives and engagements.


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience producing both tactical and strategic analytic products and briefing senior level managers
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with relational databases and SQL.

  • Significant experience working with relational databases and SQL.
  • Working knowledge of at least one statistical software (R, Python, JMP, etc.)
  • Familiar with at least one of data visualization development tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Ability to apply statistical techniques independently to generate practical solutions for business problems in both the big picture and fine details.
  • Understanding and experience building segmentation and predictive models.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Data Science Platform or Salesforce Einstein Discover is a plus.
  • Master's degree in a quantitative field of study (e.g., statistics, economics, business, data science, analytics, or similar).


Starting base salary: $100,011 - $125,980 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
