About the Human Resources Generalist Role:

The Human Resources Generalist performs duties at the professional level in a variety of functional areas including legal compliance, payroll, recruitment and onboarding, benefits, employee relations, staff meetings, and training as needed. The generalist contributes and supports the goals and outcomes of Human Resources and Finance practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, collaborative culture that emphasizes empowerment and diversity.

The successful candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and will be committed to fostering an environment of Engagement, Inclusion, and Diversity in WEAVE. The ability to work under pressure to meet multiple demands while maintaining high service standards is required. The incumbent is expected to be resourceful and manage the workload independently, with the support and cooperation of the WEAVE HR team and leadership.

You will:
  • Process automated bi-weekly payroll for all exempt, non-exempt, and on-call employees
  • Review timesheets for accuracy and follows up as necessary to ensure that all timesheets have the appropriate approvals before processing
  • Ensure accurate preparation and input of data to the payroll system
  • Prepare and inputs into agency accounting system Payroll and Benefits allocations to Grants and General Fund Allocations
  • Prepare monthly and Payroll and Benefits allocations and other journal entries as needed; reviews and updates allocation methodologies as needed
  • Assist with recruiting, including conducting phone screens, setting up interviews, extending verbal offers, conducting background checks and reference checks.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for the onboarding process for all new employees.
  • Creating and maintaining personnel files for employees by State and Federal regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory activities such as wage orders, EEO, OSHA/Safety, Workers Compensation, Unemployment, FMLA and FLSA, OES Handbook, and Federal Financial Guide


You have:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in business, human resources or communications and at least three (3) years of related human resources experience or AA/AS degree in business, human resources or behavioral science and, five (5) years' experience, or any combination of education and experience that satisfactorily meet job requirements.
  • (S)PHR or SHRM - (S) CP preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal laws about employment issues and wage/hour laws
  • Two years of hands-on experience with payroll processing and auditing
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret policies, laws, and regulations
