The Auditor of State's office is seeking to hire a qualified IT candidate to work along with staff in our IT organization's UAN (Uniform Accounting Network) Department. Preferred candidates will be located in Central Ohio and have the ability to commute to the downtown Columbus area for assigned days in the office. The current work model allows for some teleworking as well as on-site, assigned day(s) in the office.

UAN is a financial software package created by the Auditor of State's office to support the accounting, payroll and financial management activities of local governments in Ohio. UAN, along with computer equipment and technical support provided by the Auditor's office, helps public officials apply the required accounting standards to their financial record keeping. More than 2,100 Ohio townships, villages, libraries, special districts and cities use UAN in their daily operations.

What will you be doing?

The Auditor of State's office is seeking to hire a qualified candidate to work along with the team in our UAN (Uniform Accounting Network) Department.
  • Providing first-line technical support to clients to ensure the UAN application and computer system is preforming efficiently and appropriately. Creating, testing and modifying Windows images.
  • Analyzing cloud console antivirus and anti-malware tool data and resolving issues that were found.
  • Assisting in setting up small networks or workgroups for clients.
  • Writing technical documentation for non-technical end-users and for technical co-workers.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

The office is looking for a creative individual with strong customer service and verbal and written skills with experience in the following:
  • An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or related field
  • OR an equivalent technical certification in Information Technology or related field from an accredited college, university, trade, technical or vocational school beyond high school level
  • OR possess at least two years' experience in Information Technology or related field
  • Must have a valid Ohio driver's license
