The Division of Liquor Control supports Ohio's economy by providing funding for job creation and business development through the proceeds from Ohio's liquor industry.
The division ensures Ohioans have access to the products they want by overseeing the manufacture, distribution and sale of all alcoholic beverages, selling spirituous liquor through contract liquor agencies and registering products for sale.
The division promotes the responsible consumption of alcohol by educating the public, and ensuring that businesses are informed and trained on their responsibilities not to sell to underage or intoxicated individuals.

This position is located at our Tussing Rd. in our
Division of Liquor Control Examines & reviews liquor permit new, transfer, renewal, and corporate stock and limited liability company member transfer applications regarding compliance to Ohio Liquor Laws, Regulations & Policies Reviews application for type of class or transfer applied for and creates the proper checklist of items needed pursuant to the requirements of ORC 4301, 4303 and OAC 4301 in order to issue the permit Examines and reviews applications for registration of out of state manufacturer and suppliers of alcoholic beverages Collects all application fees for company and product registration Reviews and examines all paperwork required for the registration of all new beer, wine and mixed beverage products to be sold in the State of Ohio. Examines and reviews territory designation forms required for product registration Examines and reviews label registrations Revisions and vintage label changes Collects all renewal fees and reviews out of state supplier renewal applications Reviews legal documents received from applicants concerning purchase agreements, leases, loans & other financial documents for content Ensures civilian print cards are completed completely and processes the fees collected in association with the processing of the background check Responsible for processing of personal history background forms to police departments and civilian print cards to BCI & I Drafts correspondence to applicants and permit holders as to what documents are needed for processing Mails certified notices to legislative authority and law enforcement agencies associated with the processing of new and transfer applications, in addition to tax non renewal orders associated with the processing of renewal applications Makes recommendations as to whether or not liquor permit renewal may be issued Receives & responds to telephone & written inquiries from public & applicants on issues concerning permit quotas, wet/dry status, permit and renewal application requirements & status of applications Codes documents received for the Division's license issuance and tracking system for pending applications Must be familiar with ORC 4301, 4303, OAC 4301 and Division policies and procedures to properly inform applicants of the Division of Liquor Control requirements Responsible for authorizing operating receipts for renewal applications Receives new, transfer and renewal applications directly from public and processes fee payment (front lobby) Responsible for establishing & maintaining manually kept records, as well as, entry of specific information into CICS and LITS relating to new, transfer and renewal applications Update and maintain master files Uses CICS informational programs to verify history on applications, violations to assist local law enforcement for clarification of ownership and other permit applicant information Performs related duties to meet the operation need of the Licensing Section, (i.e., scanning, processing mail, filing documents).
12 mos. exp. as Accountant/ Examiner 1, 66111, with state government exp. commensurate with duties to be assigned.
-Or 24 mos. exp. in position involving review & processing of claims, collections, billings, payments or review of documents for accuracy, completeness &/or compliance with reporting guidelines, laws or rules with exp. commensurate to duties to be assigned.
-Or 16 semester or 24 quarter hours in accounting; 12 mos. exp. in accounting or other fiscal/financial activity.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
