Robert Half is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk for a reputable company in the machinery manufacturing industry. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), general data entry, and matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers. This is a short-term contract / temporary to hire position located in the Santa Rosa, California area.

Responsibilities
- Support Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit
- General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Settle discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
- Produce statements and reports that require utilization of a wide range of sources
- Work with Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
- Post financial information to journals and ledgers
- See to the proper coding of documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

Requirements

- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
- Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Full Cycle Payroll experience
- Proficiency in Basic Bookkeeping
- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus
- 1+ years of relevant experience
- Outstanding data entry skills
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
